NICE DRUM SESSION

These were some drummers I saw while visiting WKU a while back. Im sorry but I forgot what there name was. I shot it with a nikon D200 and 18-200 3.5 -5.6mm. Lighting was horrible and my camera shoots super grainy while on ISO 1600 but i think i got a few shots that where kinda cool. Though im not used to shooting with so many different colored lights going at once...the event was refreshing and a learning experience.

First Timer Here!

Hello, my name is Matt Herp. Im 20 years old and I live in Louisville, Ky. I have been doing photography since I was in seventh grade but didn't begin to really pursue it until my junior year of high school while attending Trinity. For two years I took black and white photo classes and also was one of the staff photographers for our school newspaper, "THE ECHO". During the summer before my senior year, I was given the chance to attend the WKU Photojournalism Camp. This camp progressed my photography and enlightened me quite a bit. It told me that I for sure wanted to be a photojournalist. After graduating from Trinity, I went on to WKU to major in photojournalism. I stayed there for two semesters and did well in my photo classes. When i left WKU i was pretty broke, so i just decided to go to JCC and get a commercial photography degree. Currently i have spent two semester there and am still doing well. My goal in life is still to be a photojournalist and but I love photography in general so if i have to make money and do commercial work I'm fine with that. I do still go out and shoot journalism and documentary style like stuff. I personall love features. For past year now I have been doing a story on an alternative medicine/cannabis cancer patient.

Since I have never posted on a blogger before I've got tons of photos Id love to put on here. I didn't get my own personal digital camera till after I left western, so I'm a lil behind on stuff as well though. The posts that Im about to put on here are going to be quite random and not in synchronized order from times they were shot. Once Ive posted everything I will then try and post things as i shoot them. Hope you enjoi. Please feel free to critize or critique.
